I didn’t start in consulting. I started on the abattoir floor and fell in love with artisan butchery!

I’m currently the owner of a federally inspected meat processing facility, and I’ve lived the reality of balancing production, staffing, inspections, and compliance—often all at the same time.

Outside of the plant, I homeschool my kids, which means I don’t have the luxury of systems that only work on paper.

As I began sharing more of my work and experiences publicly, I quickly realized something: the challenges I was facing weren’t unique to my plant. Processors across the country were dealing with the same confusion, the same inefficiencies, and the same frustration with systems that didn’t actually work.

My background is in biochemistry, which gave me the foundation to truly understand the “why” behind food safety, pathogens, and process control—not just follow the rules.

But what shaped this business the most wasn’t a degree—it was experience.

I’ve worked through HACCP development, corrective actions, regulatory challenges, and the constant pressure of making sure everything holds up under FSIS scrutiny. I’ve also advocated for greater transparency and clearer communication between meat processors and FSIS, including in legal settings—because small plants deserve to understand the rules they’re expected to follow.

That’s why I approach consulting differently.
